PingOwl is built with your privacy at its core. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to keep you safe and your loved ones informed. Your data belongs to you.

What We Collect

• Name — to personalize your experience and identify you in alerts.
• Phone number — to send SMS alerts to your emergency contacts.
• Home address — shared with contacts only during an active alert so they know your location.
• Last known location — only accessed and shared during an emergency alert.
• Check-in history — stored to power streaks and ensure the timer works correctly.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored locally on your device and synced securely via iCloud. We do not maintain centralized servers with your personal information. Your data stays on your devices.

SMS Notifications

When an alert is triggered, SMS messages are sent to your emergency contacts via Twilio, a trusted third-party communications platform. Messages include your name, status, and last known location. Twilio processes this data solely to deliver the message and does not retain it.

What We Don't Do

• We never sell your data to third parties.
• We use no analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not serve ads or share data with advertisers.
