Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PingOwl, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

Not a Replacement for Emergency Services

PingOwl is not a replacement for emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, always call 911 (or your local emergency number) first. PingOwl is designed as an additional safety layer, not a primary emergency response system.

Service Description

PingOwl provides a timed check-in system. If you fail to check in within your configured time window, the app will attempt to notify your designated emergency contacts via SMS. The reliability of these notifications depends on network conditions, device status, and third-party service availability.

Service Provided As-Is

PingOwl is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the reliability, availability, or accuracy of the service. We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the app.

User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for keeping your emergency contact information accurate and up to date.
  • You should ensure your contacts have agreed to be listed and understand how PingOwl works.
  • You are responsible for checking in on time or disabling the timer when not needed.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of PingOwl after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of material changes through the app.
